CAP 2 is an analysis and report generation tool which utilizes SP Collects as
a primary source of data. Reports are generated from data contained in SP
Collects and stored in an XML file. The XML reports can be opened in either CAP
or in most modern web browsers. The use of XML also allows further cross
compatibility with other software that may be able to use the data, for example
another spreadsheet application capable of reading XML.
System Requirements

CAP 2 requires the following to run:
Windows NT 4.0 or later, Windows XP
Java 1.5.11 or later*
128 MB of RAM
Recommended:
256 MB of RAM or greater
1 GHz Processor

Known Configuration issues
------------------------------------------------------------
* As of R26, Navisphere has migrated to using JRE 1.5. It is now a requirement
to use JRE 1.5, or later, when running CAP. Please download and install the
latest JRE if CAP fails to launch.
* CAP now uses URLs to reference files. Please note that URLs do not allow '#'
within paths. As such, CAP no longer accepts paths containing '#'.
* The Synergy application is modifying the jar file associations, which is
causing CAP and SPLAT to fail to load. If you encounter problems launching
CAP, run c:\program Files\CAP2\makeCapShortcuts.vbs. Note, you may need to
disable virus checking software, before this script will run.
* An official patch of the JInitiator product is available, which fixes the
jar file association problem that caused CAP not to load properly. It is
recommended that users of CSI/Synergy upgrade to version 1.3.1.24 of JInitiator.

* NOTE: This kit contains a Rev22 navicli kit, which is required to interact
with CLARiiON Arrays running Flare Release 22, particularly CX3 arrays.
* In order for CAP2 to retrieve SPCollects successfully, you may need to disable
any firewall protection on your laptop. Most firewalls block the ports that
CAP2 uses to contact CLARiiON Service Processors, hosts and switches. All
service laptops are configured to use the Black Ice firewall software. If CAP2
experiences difficulty retrieving SP collects, try disabling Black Ice, or any
other installed firewall software, before concluding that CAP2 is failing.
Known Bugs/Needed Features
------------------------------------------------------------
* Analysis page does not load, this is typically a result of reports that grow
to over a few megabytes in size.
* Reports loaded after an Enhanced Install Process note no FBI data was found
in the issues. FBI data is actually loaded, but the report is not properly
updating this change.
* Loading from getall data can take a long time, making CAP appear to have
hung.
* Open SPCollect option does not validate that ZIP files are from the same
array.
* Units for sizes are in their native (as provided) types.
* Problems with Rel 24 arrays resolved in this release.
* Cannot run CAP against AX array running Navi Express unless cap profiles are cleared and CAP is restarted.
* The full session name is truncated in the display if the session name contains spaces
* SP type displays as unknown for AX arrays
* Severity is not displayed in issues report for HAVT issues

Allows users to upload/download files from the SYR database. CAP maintains a
queue of files to be uploaded, so that files can be batch uploaded. Users can
also download and open CAP XML reports from the SYR database.

CAP now supports parsing of text files like cfg_info, getall files and other
files from the rtp directory of spcollects. Files like getall which are not in a
format understood by CAP parser are converted to CAP understandable format
through a user customizable definitions file.

differs, then the worse of the 2 states is reported. For example, in case where
the whole bus is reported as missing on one SP, then that data is reported even
though the other SP may contain data about disks on that bus. The information
